I guess it’s been a while. But you’ve been busy, the boys have been busy, I’ve been getting a tan. Things just get in the way you know?
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re back! Well, the country is almost back… give or take a few restrictions here and there. But we are totally hooked and re-planning all the things we can do. I actually had a carvery before, also inside. Imagine! Inside lunch is the future, you heard it here first.
Speaking of Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a Twitter page that sends out the exact same tweet every Friday. It’s a tweet from Daniel Craig simply saying “Ladies and gentlemen, the weekend.” It is absolutely glorious.
Ahhhh we should be at Pebble Beach this week…next year!
So any news? You do? Too bad! This is all about us, so you’ll just have to sit back and listen. I would invite you in, but it looks like you left your digital certificate at home. Luckily it’s dry outside so you should be fine, this won’t take too long as I have a lot of pinterest scrolling to do today.
We have built a new section for Garage #2 and it has been nicknamed The Showroom. It’s a place to show off some nice cars, park some mid-break projects, and a place to read a car magazine or two while sipping coffee with a friend. is this friend you Play your cards right and you might just get the invite. The coffee area is under construction at the moment as we try to find a suitable coffee table, some Chesterfields and matching furniture. Few cigars and glasses of whiskey and what will we do? Laugh! Who said driving? I know we’re a car company, but come on, you can’t be in this. Some laws are there for a reason. Speed is the only real “guide”…but that’s just for us because we can handle it and know the local guards.
Anyway, if you have any nice furniture in storage similar to the aesthetic below, let us know!
What’s next on my list to tell you… Hmmm… Oh, here’s something: If you’re thinking of selling your classic, give us a shout. We are very good at doing all the heavy lifting. And a 40% commission is such great value! Just kidding, but get in touch, we handle all the negotiations, viewings, preparation, photography, advertising, and it will be displayed at Ireland’s home of classic sports cars! In all seriousness and not to blow our own trumpet: our record is phenomenal.
You’ve probably seen our ads looking for new faces to join us here at the workshop. I won’t copy and paste the details here, but if you want to join, or if you know some people who know some people who may know others who might be interested, you can see the details here on our website , or here on LinkedIn.
For those interested we are thinking of offering a training contract, there is an absolutely shocking shortage of guys with the skills needed to restore a car and what better place to learn than here? If this makes your toy duck float, This email address is being protected from spam bots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. is where you will find us.
Yes, the coffee is fine thanks for asking. We kept the LG66 Beans running a little longer because it was such a hit. We are also preparing for wholesale!
There’s one more thing I’m wondering… Oh yeah, the cars! Meeezus how could I forget, like our bread and butter. Sitting in this new leather chair makes me sleepy.
Ok, it’s Toyota AE86 rebuild season, it’s incredibly slow on the detail, but the finish will be just right (I’m making the perfect symbol here, you can’t see it, but just play). The MR2 is there or thereabouts and even has a pair of new wine leather seats to add a little something extra.
The baby blue sunbeam is being put into action, while the once beautiful (or so we thought) Morris Minor Convertible is currently upside down and undergoing an outrageous amount of metal and fabrication work. This car was brought to us after being purchased as a “ready to go” car. It boggles the mind sometimes when you see what people try and sell you.
That brings us nicely to this: we have a couple of cars for sale that we can work with you on to restore to your specifications. In our storage, we have Mini, MG, VW and more. So whether you want your own project or would like to join those lucky devils whose cars have a “Built by Lyons Garages” sticker on the back, get in touch with friends.
Sorry, our plans for a podcast idea took a bit of a hit, because everything was very busy and lack of hands. See our recruitment solicitation above!
Finally, we are long overdue for a Coffee and Cars event here in Malibu Ireland. We’ve got the views, the coffee, and we just need a few nicer cars, to be honest. Get in touch if you want to be part of it, either in planning or attending. According to every second person’s Instagram story, Clare and in particular Spanish Point is THE place to be in 2021. Don’t get me started on house prices around here either. At this rate, Pebble Beach will be moving here!
Well, that’s for me for a day or two, I could take a really long nap. I hope you are well, stay safe and wear your mask. And not wearing it with your nose out, I mean, do you wear your boxers with your William out too? I might actually design a new mask for myself, maybe a Martini racing style one. Anyway, go buy yourself a can of coffee. It’s about time you support your local business, people are starting to talk and they say you’re tight.
