John Cena was not officially announced quick xthe latest installment in the billion dollar Fast & Furious franchise.
Series devotees thought Cena’s Jakob Toretto would return after his debut F9, as he made peace with older brother Dom (the Vin Diesel character whose speeches about family are as much a staple of these films as crazy car chases). The photos of seven seemed to confirm this. But we didn’t know for sure until this week when teasers for the May 19 release movie started rolling out.
A full trailer was released today, giving us a little insight into what Jakob will be up to in his second foray into the Fast Universe. It’s all up there, but if you’re just here to see Cena…he looks angry, which is kind of Jake’s whole business, and also the right mindset to shoot the giant rockets strapped to the side of your muscle car.
But as anyone who has watched Cena go from goofy to deadly serious during a wrestling promotion knows, the 16-time WWE World Champion has range. Therefore, it is appropriate that the same day quick x The trailer is released, TMZ also brings us some photos from the project that John is currently filming in Australia, the one with Peter Farrelly. Ricky Stanicky.
In these, Cena isn’t shooting bazookas from cars.
We don’t get much into the context of these, but it’s not too hard to imagine how it fits into a film from the director of Dumb and dumber which has the following plot synopsis:
Ricky Stanicky is a fictional character who uses a group of married friends to blame for his bad behavior when they make excuses for their wives. When wives suspect they’ll never meet that person, husbands find someone to play the fictional character.
Put it all together and while we’re excited to see it WrestleMania 39 — This might be the next Cena role we least expect.
