Ford is still tuning the car for the wheels, but the design has already undergone more than 200 tests for structural and environmental validation. Motor Authority reports The wheels will be produced by Carbon Revolution, the same company responsible for the carbon fiber wheels on the Shelby GT350, Shelby GT500 and Corvette Z06.
Mustang product manager Jim Owens said Motor Authority carbon fiber wheels will be available for the Dark Horse approximately 90 days after the car starts arriving at dealerships, though pricing has not been disclosed. To get carbon fiber wheels on the GT500, buyers had to opt for the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Package, but that also included Pilot Sport Cup 2 wheels, a handful of carbon trim pieces, and Recaro seats improved Presumably, this standalone wheelset should be a bit cheaper.
