Wanda Maximoff’s merciless magical massacre in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is commemorated with a Funko Pop! vinyl figure
The terrifying slaughter of Wanda Maximoff’s dreams Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness is being commemorated in a suitably gory way by the folks at Funko.
Almost a year after the Scarlet Witch brought down Mount Wundagore and destroyed the cursed Darkhold of all universes, Funko has announced a new Pop! Vinyl figure for Elizabeth Olsen’s creepy performance in the 2022 sequel movie Wanda Maximoff (Earth-838) Glow in the Dark Pop! The vinyl features glowing eyes and hands that radiate red just like they did during their escape through Universe 838. The collectible figure stands approximately 3 3/4″ tall. The bobblehead also features black motor oil that runs in his face from his battle with Ultron’s Sentinels.

Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness marked the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first dive into the horror genre, drawing heavily on Olsen’s sinister portrayal of a superhuman grieving. The Funko limited edition commemorates the film’s most violent and horrifying sequence, in which the Scarlet Witch confronts and brutally kills several members of the superhero team, the Illuminati. The scene brought in several Marvel stars from other franchises, including Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier and Anson Mount as Black Bolt, MCU stars Hayley Atwell and Lashana Lynch reimagined as variants of different superheroes, and it even featured John Krasinski as Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four. . All of these cast members died horribly at the glowing hands of the Scarlet Witch.
spider man spider man Trilogy director Sam Raimi’s return to Marvel – and MCU debut – with the Doctor Strange The sequel was meant to be a much darker and more violent film than the PG-13 theatrical cut. In addition to wreaking havoc in another universe, an early version of the script included an opening where Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) attacks Wanda in Universe 616, and the Scarlet Witch responds by beheading the warlock. Another notable cutscene demonstrates the morbid extent of Wanda’s powers during the assault on Kamar-Taj, where she enchants the corpses of her dead enemies to stab the remaining defenders. Also, another jarring scene saw her hand Wong a horribly bloody death by splitting his head in half.
Marvel has yet to make any announcements about Elizabeth Olsen returning as Wanda Maximoff, although Kevin Feige has teased the possibility. Olsen’s nefarious co-star in the previous Disney+ series WandaVisionKathryn Hahn, will star in the upcoming spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaoswhich is currently in production and is scheduled to be released later in 2023.
The Wanda Maximoff Glow in the Dark figure from Funko Pop! is scheduled for release in March 2023, available for pre-order now. The Entertainment Earth exclusive figure is $14.99 each.
